Become a clay studio intern or resident potter at Green River Pottery
Typically, the internship is a work trade allowing enrollment in an eight-week class here at the studio. You also have free access throughout the week when you’re an intern.
In exchange, two 4-hour shifts per week ‘on duty’ in the studio, when you’ll be helping with basic tasks such as cleaning, organizing, setting up for classes, unloading the bisque kiln. The studio manager helps guide your work & may have particular tasks to assign.
Each internship is a little different – we can adapt & adjust the format in many cases. Do get in touch if you’re interested & we can discuss options. One recent intern was here for just four weeks & wrote a terrific & informative blogpost about her time here.
Resident potters also do a work trade – studio access in exchange for keeping up with responsibilities in the studio & gallery – and there is a monthly fee as well. Residents make a longer commitment, take on more responsibilities, and have enhanced studio access options. The resident potter position is right for someone who may have ‘graduated’ from a class here at the studio & would like to continue developing & learning, as well as start selling work and getting more deeply involved in running the studio.
Send us an email or give a call to the studio here & discuss if you’re interested! We are happy to answer questions & let you know more information.
These studio positions are assigned on an on-going, rolling, basis. We can let you know if one of them is available now, or we can discuss when it might be possible to set something up.
